I've always found BEA blue colour a bit cold and flat. But perhaps it's just me. And it's difficult to choose.

Perhaps at some stage, BEA could add support for different themes but there's quite a lot of other stuff in the to do list right now.

I like it too.
If you have some pallet suggestions, by all means jpg the colours into a post.

I'm glad two excellent members like it !
However I think we can all agree that blue is not a warm color. And I think BEA blue especially; a slate blue is warmer, for instance. That would be a suggestion, by the way, which is not that far..
When I joined, I was just randomly looking for some compilation of official charts (and then I realized that users charts were part of it) and I thought the blue design was reflecting just that : a database. It's too cold ! 😄 Or too wise.
Albums are a friendly, warm and fun subject : I wish the site design could be slightly more friendly, warm and fun.
Of course I know there's a lot of work already going on !

By the way if you think that's bland this site is a cornucopia of color compared to rym
Not trying to shut your opinion out, just giving mine that I like the blue color. Overall color scheme... Not too sure...

Blue is pretty formal, esp paired with greys and whites, but I think it works. And I’m curious how ANY blue could be warm. Blue is the centerpoint of cool on the color wheel. I like cool colors cause everything is fuller and less busy looking.
I can’t really think of any purple sites off the top of my head. That could be fun.

Damn, I see Rym have a full-blown, database-like design indeed! It’s the new trend, right ? Because of information excess, people want ultra simple websites?
But I guess this is mainly smartphones oriented. Perhaps the old school, laptop, occasional user still likes something more cosy.
