Valravn was an intriguing find and am interested in listening to more of their stuff, but gotta go with the second best thing to come out of #lolcumbria

British Sea Power for me. Never really loved them but this hits the mark. Interesting to have something from a different culture to mine with Valravn but I didn't get too much from it on a first listen.

Edit: There is only one vote showing for BSP so maybe me or CDG hit the wrong button. Oops!

Surprisingly, Valravn hit me just right. I like BSP, but the unknown gets my vote here.

Tough choice as both are quite good, but neither is stunning. I'm going with Carrion.

Two phenomenal songs. Polar opposites in a lot of ways. One a traditional take on modern rock. One a modern take on traditional folk.

I grew up playing a lot of traditional folk music from Ireland, Poland, Norway, etc. What’s really cool about Valravn is that they have that background too, but they managed to take something that’s, er, a bit dated, and they made it sound incredible fresh, sexy and cool. This track works better in the context of the album, as I suppose is the norm, but I do absolutely love this song whether I’m listener, dancer, or whatever my third option is. Very original and inspiring.
