I think adding a night mode option (Where the background is a darker color) would make the current design much less... blinding to look at
I think the idea of 'themes' might solve this, but it's not something that's planned right now. Perhaps we could choose an off-white for the background colour to dull things down a tiny bit. This can be investigated.
