I haven't been able to get into anything Angel Olsen has done, this track included. It's a decent indie rock track but I think the guitar during the chorus kills whatever momentum the chorus had. That said, I'm voting for Shut Up Kiss Me over country James Blake. _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.
Not really enamored by Angel Olsen's drift into high quality production, it lacks the ethereal that makes Strange Cacti such a powerful piece for me. And even on My Woman, Shut Up Kiss Me isn't the best track. But I'm here for it, it's evocative of some classic glamor as Skinny said and you know what I actually kind of like the fuzz. Using the piano to emphasize percussion (it's justttttt there if you strain for it) is a solid production choice too. When I listen to Night Beds I just hear worse Imogen Heap
