I wish I liked this more than I do. Staples is a fun presence and a natural rapper. The production just feels a little… functional? No I.D. has always skewed more competent than inspiring (to my ears, anyway). I generally prefer Staples’ more unpredictable, frenetic work - be it with electronic artists, or more playful guys like Kenny Beats. By the end of this record, I find myself exhausted - even if it does sporadically sparkle. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
