The Posies vs. Jellyfish is a tough call. The Posies obviously recorded a lot more material, but none of it was as good as Spilt Milk if you ask me. (And I admit that nobody asked me.) Btw, Jellyfish guitarist Jason Falkner's solo stuff is definitely worth checking out!
The 90s were actually kind of thin on power-pop as I recall, but there were definitely some extremely good bands — TFC, Fountains Of Wayne, The Wannadies (from Sweden), maybe Sugar and Superchunk if you care to extend the definition just a bit. The The Darling Buds and The Primitives too, though they both technically started in the late 80s. There was also Sloan, Weezer, and Superdrag, though I personally wasn't a big fan of any of them — otherwise I'd provide automatic BEA links for them as well.
Other such acts that are worth looking into (if you haven't already): The Nines, Owsley, Splitsville, and Cotton Mather. Especially Owsley, really. He was criminally underappreciated.

I mean it was pretty prominent because of how good the albums were, even by bands that weren't wholly power pop.
Gin Blossoms, Nada Surf, Spitz, Letters to Cleo, The Muffs, The Wannadies (like you said), Green Day's Warning, the pillows, The Minders, etc.
Since they got mentioned, what is the consensus nowadays on Fountains of Wayne? I used to really like them but they don’t get much notice nowadays (glad Madhattan did). They had great tunes and very strong lyrics but I guess the guitars/ arrangements are simple and a bit light and people got bored of them. Not checked them out for a while.
Listening to that Matthew Sweet album. It had passed me by - not big in the UK. I really like it. The guitar work is great for a pop record, thanks Gowi 😁 (cool review on your thread btw).
