Another artist I know next to nothing about and I genuinely can't recall having heard this song before.
It's not bad but ultimately I won't be returning to it all that much at the same time, 20 is a reasonable spot for now.
Catchy in parts but just missing a bit of oomph when you need it.

Fun fact: Matt Bianco isn't a person, it's actually the name of the band.

I've pointed out already that I really enjoy Madness and this is no exception, their second song to feature meaning they've found their way onto both Now 1 and 2.
I'm going to put this on par with The Sun and the Rain, really enjoy both, while neither are the massive hits that Madness have had down the years.

The differences between UK and American music are sometimes huge. I had to google this band. Never heard of them, and they've been together for 44 years. Never heard this song. They've only had 2 top 40 UK hits, with this being the last one 40 years ago. I don't think they even bother releasing material in the US anymore. They've never been close to a hit here. But 9 studio albums, the last just 2 years ago. Something new every day! _________________ I'm leaning on the threshold

The difference are crazy at times alright and it's interesting hearing your perspective on the artists, given how tailored it is to the UK I don't know which ones have really made it big in the US and which ones haven't, I hadn't heard of them either to be totally honest and the same goes again with today's artist, who've also been together for 40 plus years by all accounts, just shows how many bands are out there that have faded into the distance I guess.
One of the interesting aspects of this project as I go!
So as mentioned, another obscure one I didn't really know, I know the Yazoo version and I think I've heard this previously but had no idea who the Flying Pickets were.
Still going 40 plus years later and best known for an acapella Christmas number 1! I do enjoy Only You though, a different take on it.

Back to something a bit more in the mainstream now, pretty sure we all know this at this point.
The German version of this would ordinarily be my go to, so it does lose points there, I assumed they used the English version on this album due to it being for UK release and it being the 80's.
Not sure if this was as big in the US but it was a fairly significant hit over here to the best of knowledge.

Over a billion views on this one, definitely a massive pop sensation that we absolutely all know, I like it, it's going in just behind Nena in 15th place for now, pretty catchy and good fun.
I've listened to one Cyndi Lauper album I think, the massive She's So Unusual, which makes my 1983 chart, but other than that I have no real strong opinions on her, seems to make a good pop tune though!

So Tracey Ullman was covering Madness in the mid 80's? Certainly didn't know this before...
A decent effort and my preference out of the 2 Tracey Ullman track's to make the cut so far, not as good as the original however.
I'm also surprised to see Tracey Ullman making the cut on a UK based album.
