My best friend left mainland France for Guadeloupe a few months ago, leaving a large collection of CDs behind for me to keep. I'm halfway through listening to all of them. Some of them are very good, some of them I wanted, some of them were only average. And now this, which I checked out of friendship and sincerity.
Awful.
Some nice guitar sounds amidst the general awfulness.
Remember that song Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues? That's one of the greatest records ever. I think I also had this album here but all I remember about it is the cover. I think I got it at a garage sale or something and it was all tore up and falling apart.
I actually still play Good Time Charlie in my set sometimes. Really underrated songwriter. He made some clunker album, though...this one included!
All I really know is the one song by him and that's because my father had it. I don't remember the album though.
