HELLO AGAIN!

As mentioned in my introduction, my main reason for being here was wanting to hear new sounds and expand my music taste. to that end, I would love for some of you guys to give me some suggestions on your personal favorite albums/eps/singles.

This whole site looks really cool, cant wait to see what you guys make me listen to!

If you really want to hear new sounds and expand, as you say, you can listen to some of my favorite artists, but I'm not sure if you'll be willing to do that or not. Here's just a couple of albums if you are interested.

Lauren Talley by Lauren Talley

I Believe by Mahalia Jackson

You have already recommended both of these Christian albums to this user inside of this thread before. You have also made it quite clear that you do not like most of the music he has said he enjoys (no surprise). Maybe take that as okay, I tried. There's no need to keep pushing Christian music onto people while refusing to listen to what others like based simply on...a symbol? If anyone here could use some expanding, it's you.

Duppy has posted in this thread a list of things he/she likes, so maybe it would be better if we started with that list instead of just pushing what WE like. And dismissing their choices based on...symbols.

There's really no good reason to go from here straight to Lauren Talley. This would be like me taking your love of Christian music and suggesting that you might like

Prowler In The Yard by Pig Destroyer

Doesn't make much sense, now, does it?

So, let's try again, hoping that Duppy (who hasn't been on site for a week now) isn't gone for good.

These are the examples that Duppy gave off the top of his head of what he enjoys:

-GNX by Kendrick Lamar
-Chromakopia by Tyler the Creator
-From Zero by Linkin Park
-Punk Tactics by Joey Valence & Brae
-From Mars to Sirius by Gojira

-AND THEY MINE FOR OUR BODIES by Gao the Arsonist
-A Lonely Sinner by samlrc
-Prefer Not to Say by Tanger
-Rat Taxi by Louie Zong
-School Trip by The Vanished People
-Monarch of Monsters by Vylet pony

Can anyone give recs based on this list?

I hadn't recommended any albums until my last post. I only named a few artists that I liked and posted a video of a song for each one. He or she also said they were interested in expanding and listening to new sounds, not the same sounds he or she has already been listening to. That would be like if I were to say I wanted to expand my listening and people recommended me Lauren Talley or something else that I already listen to.

And you did not need to post a disturbing image. That's just being obnoxious.

I'm not the one posting disturbing images.

This is so much harder than it should be I swear. there are lots of mainstream albums that I have enjoyed recently:

-GNX by Kendrick Lamar
-Chromakopia by Tyler the Creator
-From Zero by Linkin Park
-Punk Tactics by Joey Valence & Brae
-From Mars to Sirius by Gojira

all of these are pretty standard, and not very explorative at all, for the more indie (and typically more experimental)

-AND THEY MINE FOR OUR BODIES by Gao the Arsonist
-A Lonely Sinner by samlrc
-Prefer Not to Say by Tanger
-Rat Taxi by Louie Zong
-School Trip by The Vanished People
-Monarch of Monsters by Vylet pony

as for genres I'm not huge on, I'm not the hugest fan of country (I just don't relate to wanting to drive a big tractor ig) but that is the only real genre that I'm less likely to give a fair chance TBH. my philosophy is if it sounds good i listen.

sorry if this is unhelpful, but i really am a weird freak when it comes to music taste.

I could be really wide of the mark with this recommendation but you might enjoy

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine

Heavy(ish), big on interesting lyrics. IMO a classic of the early 90โ€™s. Took some time to grow on me. Needs to go higher in my charts TBH.

It would be helpful if you created an overall chart so that we can get a better handle on the albums that you love. Hope you enjoy RATM

This is an open forum. Images are not censored (unless they break the site rules). The rest of the site is different because the content solely comes from BEA's database.
