Recently, I've been listening to Born This Way by Lady Gaga. It's such an exciting body of work that was a bit misunderstood and ahead of its time, despite its huge success in sales and relatively good critical reception. The album is a pop explosion supplemented by dark electro-rock/metal influences. Each song has hints of a different genre ranging from techno to disco. I believe this album is the blueprint for avant-garde pop and is one of the best albums of the 2010s.
