Mysterious, beautiful, compelling......music. PJ harvey is one of the most uniquely powerful artists of all time. More direct than Joni Mitchell, More serious than Liz Phair, more hooky than Hole, pj harvey has a serious shot at the title of best female solo artist of all time. Consider the evidence: Essential albums: Rid Of Me, To Bring You my Love, Stories from the city, Stories from the sea, White Chalk, Let England Shake, Dry and finally Is this desire. Great music videos: Man-size, A place called home, good fortune, working for the man. Evolving artistic styles that still retain musical punch and relevancy, Rid of me being the sonic inspiration for In Utero, etc. She is great. Discussion? opinion?

The difference between her and those other artists, except maybe roxy music, is that she has released at least 6 highly regarded albums as opposed to the one to three essential albums of all of these other artists. she can boast both quality and quantity in her career as opposed to these other artists.

6?!?!? 😲 What 6 are these? The only one I've ever seen regarded as a classic is 'Rid Of Me'.

LCD Soundsystem, Daft Punk & Wu-Tang don't have the biggest discographies ever...But they've all released better work than PJ.

I'm just going to stop 😐 I like PJ Harvey a bit, but I think she's over-rated. That's my opinion. Done & done.

In my eyes, Rid of Me will always be her best album. She has many great albums, but Rid of Me stands head and shoulders about the rest.
