Simple enough topic: My list has changed considerably since my first list but people don't go back to re-rate the chart. I try to do so with other charts as often as I can. So, is it just me that does this, or are there others out there?
Occasionally I have assigned a new rating to a chart that I previously rated. Unfortunately, BestEverAlbum change notification is weak. There is a list of new or updated charts since your last visit but if you don't visit them during that session they disappear from the list. All charts now show the date of the last updated but there is no listing of same. Furthermore it is often difficult to determine what was updated or edited. Changes or edits are not identified. That could be done by a different color font and date for each change.
I agree that most often charts are not re-rated after changes, but I think Naples brings some valid points as to why that may not happen. I believe AM is implementing some changes that will make it easier to see new vs. updated charts soon, so perhaps that will help some.
Personally, I don't rate charts, as I don't see the need to rate how much I like someone else's taste in music. In general, I peruse the charts to either get a better insight into a person or to discover new music. In the case of the latter, if someone has an interesting chart full of albums that I like, think I would like, or want to discover, I will add the chart to my favourites, but that's it.
Edit: P.S. Harkan, your chart link doesn't seem to work... Did you mean to link to this one instead?

That post from Harkan is over 2 years old, so chances are he has deleted and recreated his chart many times since then, so it's not surprising that the link doesn't work anymore...

Oops, dammit! I thought I checked that.
See, Eggman... this is exactly why dead threads should stay dead... so I don't look like a fool! :p

Thanks Manc :)
๐ Well, it's not like it was not your fault..... ๐
Yes, I know. ๐ I replied to a revived thread; scandalous, to be sure. There, at least, the thread was less than one year old before it revived, as opposed to over two years old here. There, as well, discussion has continued quite nicely; here it just seems to be our banter.

That was my self-deprecating humour, mixed in with a bit of sarcasm, to get my point across without being so blunt. I guess next time I'll be more forward.
