Talking about the forum background (the one behind this text). Looking at its hex code I just discovered that it's grey. This blows my mind because I definitely see it as a pale blue, even now after learning that it's not. It's obviously just an illusion due to the blue colour of the main site background, but I'm wondering how you guys see it.

Looks white-ish grey to me, the color that's behind the poll, that looks grey.

Purple, that's exactly why I found out the hex in the first place!

Definilty looks grey, I don't think the blue background would make it look more blue, grayscale should end up looking like the complimentary colour when contrasted against one another, so really the background should look a little orangey.

Steps:
1. On a BEA forum page, press "Prt Sc Sys Rq" button.
2. Run "mspaint.exe".
3. Click "Paste".
4. Choose "Color picker" from "Tools".
5. Drag your mouse pointer to the background color of "BEA forum page" and click.
6. Click "Edit colors".
7. Read the given values for "Red", "Green" and "Blue".
8. Go to the website http://www.colorhexa.com.
9. Enter the mentioned values of the step 7 in the format of "rgb [Value for "Red"] [Value for "Green"] [ Value for "Blue"]" in the search bar
10. You'll hopefully get the right color code.
11. Pray to my brain.

#B2CCE5 is the colour of the site background

#F8F8F8 is the colour that the forums text is backed on, which is what Alex was talking about.
