I imagine it's partly because Jack has a tendency to rub people up the wrong way, and partly because lancashirearab is actually an awesome user. There was a forum before the current crop of regulars arrived you know. I love Jack anyway, one of the funniest users to talk to, as intelligent as just about anybody on the forum, and genuinely lovely (when he wants to be). But I voted lancashirearab because I figured he was going to get battered. If I'd known it would be this close, I'd have voted Jack because overall he's a user whose contribution to the forums has been massive (and whose contribution to the BEAlluminati is unparalleled), but lanc definitely deserves a few votes. _________________ 2021 in full effect. That was less of an "lanc isn't anywhere near as good as Jack" and more just that he isn't as well known, necessarily. All along the way, he's made it against relative unknowns with a lot of people sort of going "who?" So it's weird for me to see a guy that no one seemed to know keeping so close to him. But you're right in saying that he deserves some votes. I was more just confused how the guy that everyone seemed to be frustrated keeps moving on still has a shot at moving on. I never interacted with him, so frankly, it's probably not fair for me to vote Jack, though really there's only a handful of users on the site I'd vote for over him.
That said, I might have to stalk through his old posts sometime, then. _________________

Some days I despise Jack, some days I like him. XD It's pretty weird. I try to like him since that's better. We're like frenemies. I voted for him though, I like him, he is almost as smart as he thinks he is, and he can be nice when he wants to be.
Edit: also it is more than can be said for a lot of users in that he really really helped someone, benpaco, and even if Jack just pisses me off most of the time, I respect him for helping Ben. He does try to help, I think, even if he tends to force his outlook on you. XD

Lanc's posts were strong and I do miss him, still surprised at the result so far though, I suppose some of these votes are against Jack as much as for lanc. He is great though, when he's in a nice mood especially, and as with Ben I have really appreciated talking to him about/ getting advice on certain things. _________________ Shut up mate you're boring!
