These days I've been in a difficult situation, I don't where to look to, or how I should to look to new albums.
like... I want to listen to new things, but I don't know where to choose, sometimes I like to look for albums that are in your charts, most of times because your notes interested me, or come at the rec thread, But in another way I don't know how to find new music, I like to go to the overall but I get confused or have no reference in what I want to listen to, have you ever been in this situation? how do you choose new music to listen to? is it worth? _________________ Top 100 Hits you must hear before the universe implodes of beauty
RYM, Blogs, Labels, Slsk and just focus on genres you like or ones you want to explore. Typically for me personally, an interesting genre combination, recent release (I like to stay on top of new music), or great cover art will pull me in. Over time, I've come to realize the genres that really motivate me to listen consistently are Modern Classical, Musique concrete, Noise, and, lately, this UK Bass phenomenon with PC Music. So I've been sampling a lot of that.
When an album seems interesting, by its cover, recommendation, chart, comment or what so ever, I just add it to my Wishlist, in either this site or RYM. This has worked for me a lot. When I am looking for new albums to listen I always have a bunch in my wishlists. Believe me, you'll never ran out of albums. _________________ "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming"
When I'm sober it takes normally ten seconds of browsing to either find something I haven't heard and want to or want to relisten to. When I'm not sober I can hardly ever be expected to choose what music to listen to and normally default to Primal Scream.
The overall is very confusing. Try to focus on a genre you like: look for the major artists, search albums in charts focused on that genre. Or, if you want to start exploring a new genre, go on with a classic.
Other things could be covers, titles, reviews...
The last recs I had, they were from this site, but sometimes I also get around on some italian musical sites I like. I used to buy a magazine, too, but now it's closed, and the others don't attract me too much.
Lately I've just been finding something on YouTube and putting it on for background music while I do stuff, then anything that particularly interests me I give a real listen to later. _________________ kill yr idols

I do one of two things. As I acquire albums from this year, I make a list, and listen to albums in that order. Once I'm caught up on my 2014 listening, I hit shuffle on my iPod and pick the first album that comes up that I haven't fully listened to (or that I believe needs a re-listening). So far, that's all worked pretty well, and the random album thing is kind of fun. _________________ Progressive Rock
