I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight by Richard & Linda Thompson
In the first round, it beat out Libertango. Responders indicated that they liked Libertango, but felt compelled to vote for the Thompson's I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight. In the second round, despite going up against BEA favorite Brian Eno (Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy)), it prevailed by a comfortable margin, and a few commented that it was the best of the tournament.
We will see if it can beat the BEA #2 for 1974

On The Beach by Neil Young
It's opponent in the first round, Curtis Mayfields's Sweet Exorcist got more individual votes than any other, um, non-winner in the first round. On the Beach was the album that knocked it out. Then it went on to crush Shuggie Otis's Inspiration Information 13-3.

They're at #21 and #22 on my '74 chart... love them both. I'll agree with my chart and give a very slight edge to the Thompson couple.
These are getting really difficult to handle.

On the Beach by a fairly comfortable margin despite loving Bright Lights Tonight. Just one of my all time faves.

Both are in my top 20 albums of all time...
Edge to Richard and Linda though, only just. _________________
