- Post subject: Customize overall chart problems
|
So I've been playing around with the customize overall chart feature because I was hoping to get a customizable list of 2015 albums recommended by the lovely folks here. Unfortunately, I've been running into some problems.
To start, I tried to narrow the overall chart down to 2015 albums. I did this by changing the following: "Only include music albums released between the following years" -- 2015 to 2015. I left all the other settings at their defaults. Here's the chart that resulted:
2015 albums?
Something is already wrong there. The #1 album (Sauna) is listed as being in only one chart and I was expecting this to match the year chart that I can load from the menu bar at the top:
2015 albums
I thought maybe the inclusion of "recognized" charts was causing problems, so I unchecked that box. Unfortunately, that gave me something even more confusing:
2015 albums from member charts only?
That's basically the entire overall chart. It seems as if unchecking "Include recognised charts?" caused the algorithm to ignore my year restrictions.
Are these bugs or am I using it wrong?

Sorry, these both look like bugs. I'll investigate and make fixes for these as soon as I can.

As long as we're talking about chart bugs. I was wondering. It's most likely not a bug, but my chart's ratings have ropped from 254 and 255 comments to 251 votes and 251 comments. I don't recall this ever happening. I'm sure it's a bug, but I'd like to be careful. Did users just take off the ratings or get banned or deleted, or did some other factor affect them?

I would imagine it's people who deleted their accounts or something (i.e. Brandon's original account, tekin, satie, lethal) _________________ Progressive Rock

this should really be in its own thread, but you've currently 121 ratings and 251 comments. Both of these stats look correct. Comments/ratings are only displayed on charts if the user leaving them has a public chart of their own. If a user doesn't, their comments/ratings are hidden. If a user's chart has been hidden/deleted since the feedback was left, this would explain the fluctuating numbers. This rule has been in place a very long time & helps stop people trolling on other people's charts.
