This site has difficulty with many Wikipedia hyperlinks that include parentheses. See http://www.besteveralbums.com/phpBB2/vi...0393#30393

Trying to manually code them returns a blank preview. Automatic URLs ignore information from the first ( and thereby return incorrect hyperlinks.

yes, been reported before. Bug with BBCode on phpBB. Workaround is not to use the URL BBCode, just paste the URL into post body:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cure_%...t_album%29

Pasting the URL into the body automatically gets it converted to a truncated and incorrect hyperlink.

I accept there is a problem, but there is also a workaround. Just use URL encoded characters in place of parentheses. This is on the bug tracker waiting to be fixed.

Sorry, I didn't think of putting in the html code for parentheses; merely cutting and pasting didn't work.

sorry, I know it's not very logical & this will get fixed at some point (pasting in Firefox gives you the encoded URL - not sure about IE).

IE9 doesn't give the encoded URL.

nobody's perfect, but a site as important as that shouldn't be using those sort of URLs
