2011 is the closest thing to a bastard this tournament has. Don't give Precedent the joy of having won after walking away. Vote accordingly.
But first a few words from our founder and CEO:
This team is going to flunk, most probably. I'd planned from the start to make a "from the heart" team on the last round of the group stages, hoping I'd secured enough points on the first rounds to afford it. I didn't, though, but I'm going ahead with it anyways.
If you find my selection to be boring or not to your tastes, that's fine - but please try to listen to them first. This is probably at the same time the favorite selection I've made so far, and the one I'm the most sure is going to lose.
So, yeah. Listen to them, please - then decide. You've got the whole week to vote. Don't let the (mostly) lack of big names in the LP department scare you away.
2. Nocturnes - Boxhead Ensemble
Absolutely fucking magical. Chaotic yet really calming at the same time.
I found this through that lesser known albums tournament. At first both the artist and album names put me off listening to it, but it's pretty fucking solid. Feels like a male Joanna Newsom playing the piano instead of the harp.
5. The Brave and the Bold - Tortoise & Bonnie "Prince" Billy
I love Bonnie "Prince" Billy. I love Tortoise. Therefore I love this a fuckload. Combines the best aspects of both artists to create something completely new. Yes, it's a series of covers. Yes, it's still fucking great.
Sound of Silver definitely didn't come out in 2006.
Removed for now. Will await word from Defago if anything further needs to be done. He doesn't have any votes as of this post, so hopefully that will be enough.
I think 2011 was a stronger year for me personally, but going only off of what's represented here, I much prefer the 2006 team. _________________ follow me on the bandcamp.

He could use 45:33. Easy come easy go.
Anways, that may be the best single team yet of the tournament! Defago's Shitty Singles (trademarked) ftw! But oh I love that 2011 team, and it may be impossible for me to vote against Past Life, and I really like the rest (with the exception Valhalla Dancehall, although I love British Sea Power, which was one of their lesser albums) plus strong singles. Tough match, will listen to a couple of the 2006 albums I haven't heard before deciding.
Edit: Also I have to raise the point that should be stressed for the next rounds is that the rule of not re-using singles from albums you use and vice versa hasn't been followed to a T, although I think Patman deserves a break this time just 'cuz the difficulty of having to take on a year so suddenly. (and maybe Im just biased cuz the offending album is PLMS )
nice to see the Stetson and Boxhead Ensemble records in this match. Leaning 2006 for the singles edge, although I may prefer the albums of 2011 slightly. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

Woops, my bad, genuinely didn't realise that was a rule, must've missed it, feel free to remove it sp4cetiger if it's a problem! _________________
