How Much of a Cultural Omnivore Are You?

So most of us have probably heard the post-Bordeaou theory that the best way to seem "elite" in cultural taste is to consume every kind of media voraciously. You may think it's silly and classist to even think about these things, but remember that half the point of sites like this is to expose you to other sorts of culture in that same way.

I used to think that I was a great cultural omnivore, and I really may be in the contexts of recorded music and movies (and I think I'm getting there with literature). But I am starting to think about all the kinds of media I know very little about, including:
*Let's Plays and other "Social Media Cinema"
*Late-night talk shows
*The vast majority of even the best primetime TV through the ages
*Opera
*Most sorts of video games post-2012
*Narrative podcasts (like Serial, which I still need to start listening to ๐Ÿ˜ข )

And there's probably a good bit of stuff I'm forgetting about right now.

What do you guys think? Would you call yourself a cultural omnivore? What is the range of culture you consume, and what do you wish you had time for?

Does one need to be a good speller to be a cultural omnivore?

No. I still think it was funny. Don't take it too much at heart Aplleril.

I'm always trying to fill gaps in my understanding, whether it's related to culture or not, but I don't have time to be a regular consumer of more than one or two forms of media at a time. Music and (classic) literature are my main focus right now, but I've gone through phases of heavy consumption of films, video games, and TV. The list of things I haven't consumed in large quantities is too long to put here, unfortunately.

Truth is, I don't know very much about anything.

Music is what I fancy myself as an avid consumer of, but having not even heard 1,000 albums yet, I feel like I'm still just dipping my toe in the water compared to everyone else. I don't read, I don't know why, I really wish I did, I just find it difficult. I watch film and TV now and then, but I quickly shrivel in any conversation about movies when around bigger movie-buffs than me. I struggle to finish most video games, I get bored of the mechanics much quicker than it seems most people do. Mostly I wish I knew more about art and design, since it's my field of study, but I hardly know enough to call myself a designer.

Gets pretty sad when I think about it actually. When I tell people I'm really into music the response is almost always "So am I, have you heard X?" and then I usually say no, and feel like all the hours I've poured into music listening has been for nothing. I guess I spend more of my free time creating things than experiencing things.
