Hello. After receiving a summons from that Rocky bloke in which he practically threatened me with ex-communication from BEA* unless I posted summit, here's a record.

Trés Prècieux Sang by Accident du Travail
I saw this in Honest Jon's the other day. It's kinda drony, might appeal to SOTL and Tim Hecker fans, the 'modern classical' set or people who liked that Church Cleaning record that Skinny banged on about last year. You can stream it from the above link innit. In fact even better download it for nowt, that way you can put it on your Zune or whatever. It's also available on vinyl, though unfortunately not one of those coloured numbers the kids like.
My favourite track is Food Is Ready which sounds like someone making something in a saucepan before floating off somewhere between space and a cookery programme on the telly.
Some of you might like it. I fell asleep before it finished so I haven't heard it all yet. Perhaps you can tell me if it's worth staying up for, or if like me you prefer this rather ace Big Star/Fannies rip-off. But then I would.
Toodles.

Didn't think much of it when I first put it on but when it got to 'Mariage' I suddenly had a vision of Harrison Ford in a spaceship approaching a dark, glittering pyramid. A few of the other tracks reminded me of Vangelis as well...
I enjoyed the experience, worth a listen. _________________ discogs

I enjoyed it. A very dark drone album. A little slow at times but generally a pretty cool listen. I like jwammo's visual of someone approaching some kind of dark structure or something. It feels like the soundtrack before something major happens to a movie character. It's cool though, good pick. _________________ Progressive Rock

only just now getting around to this but I'm glad I waited for this moment, like I'm in a bit of a sleepyish haze. perfect for this sort of drone with the dominant slow paced tones that hang in the ear like this. I don't know how to describe the exact quality but there's something here and in other music that makes me really aware of the ear canal, like yeah Songs For Church Cleaners is good to bring up here because that used long notes for a similar result, I think. Some really cool details here, like that faint drum loop in the first track toward the end. That whole ending is great with all the elements coming together. But yeah the whole sound combo is really tasteful, and a good mix of leaning into the consistency vs. being generous with the sonic activity, I dig it.

Tried it a couple of times and it's a grower. It offers so much more than just the long spatial ambient stains I noticed on the first listen. Mariage may be more of a drilll than drone, actually. Good pick ! _________________ Always shouts out something obscene
