I think mine would have to be "Shangri-La" by the Kinks. Scathing, heartbreaking critique of the gilded prison of suburban banality. I also like Bob Dylan's "Oxford Town" for its straightforwardness and any number of Bad Religion songs for the same reason.

Maybe it's just because I'm a conservative, but I've never cared for political songs. Really, unless they're made by a genius like Bob Dylan, what makes them any better than cheesy Christian rock?

But nonetheless:
*Pink Floyd-Us and Them
*POD-Youth of the Nation
*Pearl Jam-Jeremy
*The Clash-Lost in the Supermarket
*The Smashing Pumpkins-Disarm

I guess it would be kind of weird for The Man to rail against himself, huh? 😜

I guess this shows just how few people venture into the Politics/Religion threads. There is pretty much the same thread on there.

Gary, the Politics/Religion forum includes a thread where you cited Rambo III as a valid historical document. If I just stick to the music folder I don't have to constantly remember that about half of the users on this site are stark raving mad 😜
