Last year I started getting into listening to albums in their anniversary years and although I started a little late I enjoyed it. I'm going to start this year focusing on 1967 albums, in their 50th year. I listen to most of my music on vinyl and I think I have like 25 albums from 67, mostly the big stuff but I want to hear about some of your favorite lesser known works.

So what are some of your favorite 1967 albums that don't get enough love that I should give a listen to?

Circus Maximus by Circus Maximus (US)

Godz 2 by Godz

Cosmic Tones For Mental Therapy by Sun Ra

Anna by Serge Gainsbourg

Conquistador! by Cecil Taylor

Janis Ian by Janis Ian

Here's To You by Hamilton Camp

Gene Clark With The Gosdin Brothers by Gene Clark

Nicola by Bert Jansch

Oooo ๐Ÿ˜„ Some great looking recs there. I've only head two of those.

Jmo, 1967 is pretty insane. The further you dig the better it gets. Here are some of my lesser known recs, most of them are bassa and jazz.

Guitarra Portuguesa by Carlos Paredes

Song For by Joseph Jarman

Jazz Meets India by Dewan Motihar Trio & Irene Schweizer Trio

Nommo by Milford Graves & Don Pullen

Hi Voltage by Hank Mobley

Holy Music by Malachi

I love this concept/possibilities for discussion.

I just had a major change in my life, so less time for such.

I'll leave my list here for now... absolutely amazing year for music, in my book. I probably didn't even scratch the surface, but it's a decent start on what I love about the year:

Top 40 Music Albums of 1967 by sethmadsen

EDIT: I thought this was 1967 discussion, not less known works of 1967... doh!

In that case, if you don't know Procol Harum, check that out. I was also surprised by Bee Gee's debut.

God bless you and his family always!!!

Holly

P.S. On this album are the original copies of "Hush", "Yo-Yo", and "Rose Garden" which were later on done by other singers.
