- Post subject: Need help looking for a song/band

I think this might be the third or so thread I've made looking for a song/band.
Alright, here goes, this one is a little hard than last one (Brown paper bag) since I don't remember anything related to the band title or the songs. This band was known in the 90s or 2000s. I can't remember if they were in both decades or are still making music, but those are the decades that they're possibly from. Here's the big hint, this band's lead singer really strains his voice. Like, he strains it to completely new levels, it's insane.
Alright, now, they kind of sound like superchunk or other underground bands during the 90s or maybe even Toadies. So they kind of have a post-hardcore, indie rock, post grunge type of sound. They had a single, I don't remember when, but it was kind of big. The single had a chorus which was only one word repeating I think and the guy strains his voice on it so well.
Outside of that, I can't remember anything about them. Thanks for the help if you know it!

all of those post-grunge singers strained their voices though...
um first ones that came to mind:
Live / can't think of one word chorus song...
Silverchair / Freak

Nope. More famous than that. They're one of those bands who had somewhat of hit, but not too huge of a hit type thing.
