By "worst" I mean the most offensive or disgusting, OR just the plain STUPIDEST.

Though an excellent album, Pet Sounds immediately comes to mind as one of the stupidest.

Not to be singled out though, there are plenty of others that will be mentioned.

The first one that came to my mind is the Beatles' chopped up babies cover. What's most awful about it is the shock that it's THE BEATLES!!!

The Beach Boys Today cover is way worse than the pet sounds cover imo

The Pet sounds cover is at least sorta semi-intriguing, the beach boys today cover is completely and totally boring

Uncontrolled Substance by Inspectah Deck

Great album. Horrible cover.

I'm sure there are many worse ones out there, especially in hip hop..
I wanted to pick an album that sounds good but looks bad.

Just look at that text..
And that magnifying glass..

That's a pretty cheesy cover.

Hip Hop had a whole era of horrible covers..

Kool Keith had the best one if you ask me. He was simply mocking the whole style.

First Come, First Served by Dr. Dooom

Great album too.

The band with the most consistently s*&^ty covers: Muse? That's my vote.

The Who's A Quick One is pretty corny. Jazz album covers are usually uninspiring.

Titus Andronicus's Local Business and The Most Lamentable Tragedy.

I think that a whole lot of iconic album covers actually suck but the music itself elevates them just b/c everyone's familiar with it and therefore the image. The Velvet Underground And Nico for example is really just a banana, it doesn't represent the album at all. The White Album. Funeral. Nevermind. They required little to no thought/creativity and aren't inherently interesting, unlike London Calling for example that while not very thoughtful or creative, is at least badass.
