I had an idea to build community on BEA. Users who have all-time top 10s that they currently feel happy with can submit them for consideration. These should all have at least one album that's not typical fare for a top 10, the more the better. The community votes on which top 10 we'd like to explore and discuss first. Then, people listen to and discuss those ten albums in a designated thread for a month. Everyone gets to know the albums that are near and dear to that person, and spend some time dissecting them. Then, we move on to a new user for the next month.

Is this an idea people would be interested in participating in? Vote if you're interested and reply if you would like to nominate your own top 10. If enough people are into this we can get started in April.

this is interesting though I would have concerns abt the potential number of things to listen to, I may struggle to keep up. also my current top 10 includes are 4 hour album that is unavailable to stream, I'm guessing something like that may not work so well for this

You could always just edit your own top ten for submission in this case. Especially in your case. Wink

I'm down. My top ten's da bomb! Cool

Also we could make each top ten last ten weeks so that it would just be one album per week. I agree that any more than that would be unwieldily since we all have our own little projects as well. But one album per week should be pretty doable I think.

I don't feel the need to pay to stream every single album in existence so it would not work for me Smile

To be honest, this would be cool to do. I am in for this project. All I need to do is to realistically solidified my top 10. Then again my greatest list needs to be changed drastically.

I would be down. Even though I changed my top 100 not too long ago, the top 10 could definitely could use a shake up.

Sounds like a fun idea! I change up my top 100 pretty often, but my top 10 is moistly static. The most unusual entry on my list is probably Faith by George Michael.

In, but only if custom charts can be nominated/considered as it allows for a little more scope than going over some albums I imagine some of us have heard umpteen times.

I think another way of doing this is just having users tweak their top 10 so it contains only albums above a BEA rank of 1000 or sth like that. Especially since many users cannot make custom charts just yet.
