The album that got me into The Allman Brothers. Too bad a peach truck took out the dude.

Mountain Jam blew me away the first time I heard it.

These guys are nearly family heritage (my dad's family is from Jacksonville). Shows at local parks and the such before they got famous.

Look. I love their album Brothers and Sisters. That is a great album 95/100 rating. (Fillmore East is also O.K. but is too long, I will finish it later and rate it, probably 90/100 territory), but this album is really boring. I'd rather listen to Taylor Swifts "country" albums any day of the week. It is just so ridiculously boring to me. Any one feel the same?

No I don't think it's borng at all. Except for Mountain Jam, which isn't in so much boring but just that I never get really into super long jam songs that go on and on forever. Like their other albums, I love the sides with the short songs but never listen to the sides with the long songs. Side one of this is great and Blue Sky is great.

@bobby

Hmmm... Maybe it would help if I skipped the long songs on this one...

Yeah I definitely prefer brothers and sisters. Probably boils down to what you like better, long blues rock songs or short country rock songs. Plus I just like Dickey Betts songs better.

Says the one with a 14 hour opera as his number 1 album? I mean I suppose the medium is different. I mean to each their own just curious as to why?

Maybe it's just a matter of acquired taste, but to me The Ring of the Nibelung has more energy. It's like 14 hours of stuff that's at least as exciting as Brothers and Sisters. Plus, I am reevaluating my charts due to getting older and less of a party monster.

Makes sense/figured as much.

Also, reevaluate, but I also dig your style. Good luck on the journey!
