I've never seen an album of the day that was this high up on the overall chart, interesting.

You must be new, normally they all come in bunch, don't be surprised if the bends is here tomorrow Very Happy

Also weird how much declined on the charts since I got here first. It was something between 8 or 9th, and now 15th, damn.

Obviously the title track rocks, but let's not forget that the masterpiece here (train in vain) was almost jumped by a lot of people because it was a hidden track

I predict Feels by Animal Collective.

We won't see The Bends until December of 2019. But OK Computer should show up in September.

I read this:

...and wondered how long the "x day period" is, so I followed the provided link and clicked back through until I found the last time London Calling was album of the day. Turns out it was exactly three years ago, and the string of albums just before it happened to coincide with the albums we've had since clear back in October.

My guess is that highly ranked albums reliably show up "prominently in member charts in the previous 24 hours", no matter what day it is, which means they'll be selected as album of the day as soon as the "x day period" (three years) has passed. So I just checked the next album of the day three years ago (04/23/2015) and it was Feels by Animal Collective. Hence my prediction, which turned out to be correct. Following on that, I'm betting we get Thriller tomorrow, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots a couple days after that, and so on.

I think you're mostly right and I hadn't realised it was getting that predictable... I originally thought three years would be a long enough time period for people to form new opinions, or the audience to change enough so that the albums could be presented to some new people. I still think presenting the top ranked albums now and again is a good thing for those people that haven't come across them before (& not necessarily this album in particular).
