I liked the guitar playing of Gwenifer Raymond but it's hard to beat Courtney Barnett.

I'm a big fan of Courtney Barnett and have never been super interested in American primivitism in general, but I have to go with Gwenifer here. Barnett's song works as an intro track but isn't very gripping on its own.

Hopefulessness gets my vote easily. Three or four albums in, American primitivism has yet to really resonate with me.

I worship Courtney, but that Gwenifer song is something special.

Sometimes There's Blood.

I actually went against Gwenifer in the last round (not because she's bad, but because I really liked the other song).

But she's an easy choice this round.

Gwenifer for me as well

Yeah I kind of missed that with the whole album, this song is a pretty representive of that attempt at a more slow-crawl, moody 90s style that just didn't really work, although it still has an intriguing-enough atmosphere. But yeah this is just an opening mood-setter, not really a fully fleshed out song on it's own right, but clearly that's just one mofo's opinion here as the song has done surprisingly really well this tournament.
