No matter which way I try to do it they come out as the link to the picture instead of the picture. Hope someone can guide me through step by step how exactaly to do it.

The link to your picture needs to be inside the img tag, as follows:

Code:
[img]link to picture[/img]

e..g.

Code:
[img]http://www.besteveralbums.com/img/bealogo2.jpg[/img]

Also, just a general note to be careful not to hot-link images from other sites. Some webmasters don't like that too much, and your image might not appear correctly (I've noticed that a few times recently).

BTW, people can add links to album art on BEA by using the 'Insert BEA link' function on the message posting toolbar.

Thanks Smile I'll try using it like that later, although I had been using the [img] thing before but to no avail

if you're using downloaded pictures, sometimes some extra stuff comes up after the .jpg part that you need to delete e.g. you download a picture with called blahblahblah.jpg?dl32 so you need to delete ?dl32 and then put the link in the image brackets

It's not *you* who should have the problem, it's the website owner who may be (unwillingly) hosting an image for you (if you've directly linked an image without obtaining permission). Bandwidth costs money for a lot of people...

(yes, there does seem to be an issue posting images with URL parameters. I'll look into that..)
