I have just answered a poll on 'what is your favourite track on the White album?'

For me it is 'Dear Prudence'.

I like the Beatles original but I love the cover that Siouxsie and the Banshees did in 1983 as well.

This got me thinking about cover versions that you think are better than the original..

So what covers do you think are better than the original?

I love Neil Young. I grew up listening to him and think he is so versatile and a brilliant singer/songwriter....

HOWEVER

The best cover version of a song that I have ever heard is the Saint Etienne Version of 'Only Love Can break your heart'. So superior to the already amazing original...

This is the incredibly hard to find 'Spliff Mix'

There are few things I love more than a successful acoustic strip down of a good song.

Just recently I saw a youtube video of Taylor Swift performing Coldplay's Viva la Vida; it was surprisingly beautiful. I don't have the tech know-how to post it here, but I recommend you check it out if you're into that kind of stuff... or if you're not.
