From an old chart book — which I read voraciously as an adolescent in the 1990s and still read occasionally in the SLV despite having had my musical perceptions altered totally since the late 1990s — there are a couple of oddities vis-à-vis here:

• Songs From The Big Chair was number 91 in their ‘Top 100 [best selling] Albums of the 1980s’ and number 90 here!
  
• The Stranger is #65 here and if I recall correctly was very close to that in that book’s ‘Top 100 Albums of the 1970s’.
