The Aviator is a technical marvel (Sets, Costumes, Make-Up, Cinematography - everything in that area is top notch) but it's overlong with little revelation to the real man and Leo's lead performance isn't as captivating as it once was after seeing him play the same tricks time and time again in the 7 years to follow. So my vote goes to AP for ageing much better.
