Garden State opened a whole new world of indie music for me in 2004 (yes, The Shins...).

But Bernard Herrmann's suite is great.

Garden State happened before my Pink Floyd phase. I was listening to songs of this soundtrack a LOT back in those days. Especially the two songs by The Shins, Let Go, In the Waiting Line and Don't Panic (edit: the opening sequence with Don't Panic included is one of my favourite openings to a movie ever). I can easily say I liked the soundtrack more than the movie (the movie itself wasn't bad either).


So my vote goes to Garden State (and note that I actually prefer Psycho (the movie) to Garden State).

Garden State it shall be. Pure nostalgia value (so much can change in 7 years).

And it has the first Nick Drake song I ever heard.
