I just came across this video of bad album covers on YouTube and thought it might interest some of you. Some of these are pretty funny, but I think that Beatles album cover is just repulsive and disgusting.
The Beatles album cover I thought was funny. All those covers were terrible except for the last one (Korn). That one was absolute fire imo (I listened to the record too yesterday). It was also funny to see all of them were old except for that one and a random DJ Khaled album.
To me, a lot of things can make a bad album cover, but I notice that I hate artists who are using just one color as an album cover, especially if it's black. E.g. Donda by Kanye West. I could categorize The Beatles' White Album, but the band name is center right so it doesn't technically count.

Well, I really disagree with you on that Beatles album cover. I don't find anything funny about it. As for the Kanye album cover, I had never seen it before. I didn't know artists did that. I wonder what the point of a blank black album cover is supposed to be. It doesn't make sense to me.
My big question is how are the pictures picked in the first place and why is there sometimes no picture of the singer/act at all? Right here is a good example.
God bless you and each past and present band member always!!!

There are so many excellent album covers that don't picture the artist. Here are a few from my overall chart:
Eureka - Jim O'Rourke
I listened to some of the album's tracks a looong while ago, and I thought they sounded soothing and nice, which quite contrasts what happens in the album cover.

⬛ Donda's album cover can be good example of a one-color album cover, since "Donda" is Kanye's mother's name, and she died several years ago, and the pitch-black color of the album can represent "death" as complete nothingness / a darkness of nothing, so the album honors the memory of Donda. Even the first track "Donda Chant" is supposed to vocally represents a fading heartbeat by repeating the words "Donda".
⬜ The White Album is also a nice example (at least at its time), since the Beatles wanted a more minimalistic approach, and the complete white color of a vinyl with a small "The BEATLES" simple-font text and no printed tracklist has probably given a very mysterious feeling to vinyl-buyers in the pre-CD music era, and has a surprise element since it has 30 tracks on four sides (which is still uncommon nowadays) varying in different musical styles and genres, making the album a pure-as-white adventurous collection of music of many kinds.
You're all way off base. Haven't seen a truly bad one in this thread. So I'll start things off with this garbage dump passing itself off as album art. You can't even think about this conversation without it.

Some of them are so bad they made me laugh out loud and that Beatles album cover is just repulsive to me, but I agree, this one is really bad too. It looks like something you'd see hanging in a modern art museum, and I hate modern art.
