So in case you didn't know, Avril Lavigne's new album Goodbye Lullaby has been my favorite album of the 2010's ever since the day it came out nearly a year ago (don't make fun of me, that's not what this thread is about). That got me to thinking about albums I adored (meaning "top-100 caliber") on day one.
Well, it turned out that the list was really small. In fact, the last album that I adored on day 1 was Avril's last album in 2007.
So I wanted to ask you guys, have there been any albums that you've loved since the day they were released? If so, which ones?

I don't think I've ever heard an album the day it was released. Maybe I should try that in 2012!

I don't remember NOT loving Mellon Collie, but listening to Mellon Collie is pretty much one of my first memories anyhow. _________________ A dick that's bigger than the sun.

Asleep In The Nack and The Colour Of Spring both were instant loves. I guess there was prior listening of the bands beforehand but still are mainstays on my chart. Frank Ferdinand was another that I loved pretty much straight away.

The only albums I can distinctly remember listening to on the day of their releases are Hypnotize by System of a Down and A Dramatic Turn of Events by Dream Theater. The latter's pretty good, though not DT's best by a long shot. The former is one of my favorite albums overall, though only my 3rd favorite of SOAD's 5 albums. I just love Toxicity and Mezmerize that much, I s'pose :/
I guess Hypnotize would be my answer, then. It was a masterpiece when I first heard it and is today still one of my favorites.
