I would be really curious to see a centralized list of the best live albums ever!

Perhaps under the top-rate BEA list (and maybe others) we could have a filter to search specifically for live albums?

This is the way to do it: Clicking on a filter for showing all the live albums on the Overall Chart: https://www.besteveralbums.com/overall.php?cbid=0&f=IsLive&fv=1

Although it doesn't show all the non-top-10,000 live albums on BEA.

Thank you, I didn't know about the "Overall Chart".

But I'm a bit confused, what is the difference between that one and the "Top Rated" list, under "Statistics" ?

You're welcome 😄

Good question;

The Overall Chart shows albums with the highest rank score obtained by how many non-customized charts (BEA users' top greatest albums of all time charts, top greatest albums by a decade charts and top greatest albums by a year charts) an album is in and the higher the album is in one of these charts, the more score it obtains.
Albums obtain the most points from a "top greatest albums" chart based on how high they are placed, then decade charts and then year charts. The more albums the chart has, the more points all albums obtain.

and the top-rated albums of all time chart is based on the highest average rating by the 5-star ranking system BEA users have voted for an album.

You'll find different albums in each chart, so II recommend experimenting customizing these charts so you could possibly find an album you haven't expected finding out and then liking it. It has happened to me with several albums which II've been discovering this way.

II hope this has been helpful 😄 🙏

Damn, that's quite a complicated calculation for the Overall chart ahah.

At least regarding the Top Rated one my intuition was correct 😄

Thanks to II for the explanation, pretty much nailed it. Interesting (to me) how the Overall Chart wasn't more obvious (something that needs to be fixed). The two systems (rankings and ratings) have evolved side by side over the years. For reference, the rankings calculation is explained in the How it Works page in the 'What is the 'rank score'?' section & ratings in the 'How is the average rating calculated?' section.

In terms of a live album filter for the top-rated pages, I'll see if we can add this in a future site update (possibly using the same composition filters shown on the rankings pages).

In a way, taking into account how many non-customized charts there are and the number of albums they have, it can be complicated understanding how they all individually give score to each album, but once you get to see as many of these charts as possible, you'll possibly understand these charts more.
You can always see in an album's webpage all the charts it appears in and how much score the album obtained from each chart, that's the best way to understand how they work.

II'm glad you understand how the top-rated chart works, which you can always customize with the many filters the webpage offers you as a ver different chart, so you'll possibly find something you've never thought you would discover.

You're welcome 😄 and II thank you for thanking me and for clarifying more things regarding all the subjects being discussed: e.g. II forgot about the "How it works" page and seeing the rank score formula is another helpful tool for understanding the overall chart.

It would be really amazing to make a filter showing non-top-10,000 albums. The "Best albums by country" shows non-top-10,000 albums from a certain country, although there are no filters for live and soundtrack albums.

That sounds like a bug on the country stats page, it should be limited to 10,000 albums like rest of site. Chart filters should be more consistent across the site & this is definitely something on the radar (and highlighted by this thread).

II didn't even notice this, but you click on page 10,147 it shows you the 100th page: https://www.besteveralbums.com/countrys...page=10147

Is there a reason why these charts are limited to 100 pages?
