"I can't even bear to imagine how difficult it must be to create a follow-up to the unbelievable masterpiece that is "Homogenic", but Björk successfully managed to put out a brilliant record that continues the trend of sounding nothing like its predecessor.
This album is beautiful beyond words. It reminds me of glistening morning dew in a little, secluded patch of grass on a cold winter's morning. Chilly and sensual, the album makes the most of quiet electronica with skittering beats and turns the whole thing into something utterly gorgeous.
Shoutout to the album opener and closer "Hidden Place" & "Unison" which are utterly divine. "Vespertine" is one of the best albums of the 2000s from one of the greatest contemporary artists ever."
