I just found out about a book called "The Beatles vs. The Rolling Stones".........you can pretty much guess its content from that title. So there is a particular chapter in it, "The Double Albums", which presents the question: Which of the bands' famous double-albums was better?
Personally, I'd choose The Beatles by a narrow margin (though, I believe, in the book Exile wins). Your opinion on the matter?
I like it because it has my two favorite Rolling Stones songs on it. :D
What about the 16 other songs?
I chose The Beatles too. I care about every song on that album, but Exile is still good.
They're awesome too. ๐ But I meant that from the Rolling Stones' work overall, I like Rocks Off and Tumbling Dice the most, which are on the same album, Exile!
And wow, so many people disagree with the authors of that book (including me, as, of course, I voted for The Beatles)!
I am the owner of these two albums for over 20 years, and listened to both about the same amount. The difference is that when the Exile became my favorite immediately, in turn, White A, rose to a similar position in much more slowly. White Album did not seem so charming as the other Beatles albums. So I had to grow along with it. Exile to lose prestige. If this were a tennis match, the situation in batches of 2-2, the fifth batch, The Beatles feeds 15-0 ... _________________ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNGpsnTCUXM
