Anyone here see Control, the movie about Ian Curtis? I watched it earlier today. It focused on his romantic life more than anything else, but nevertheless it was a pretty good movie. There are also some performance scenes which were pretty cool, and the actor who played Curtis did a really good job. Joy Division fan or not, it's worth checking out.
I've never even heard of it --> when did it come out, where did you find it, et cetera...? _________________ "I'm so ugly but that's OK cause so are you"
It came out in 2007 and on dvd over the summer. I'm sure you could pick it up at any video store (any good one, at least). It's a British film and it only had a limited release in U.S. theaters, so I'm not surprised that you hadn't heard of it until now. It was directed by Anton Corbijn, who directed Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box" and a bunch of other music videos.
Yeah, it's a great film indeed. It focuses more on Ian Curtis romantic life because as far as I know, all the story was taken from Ian's wife book. One of the best films based on a musician's life.
saw it in the theatre and it was great! the actor playing ian did a much better job in this film than his portrayal "24 hour party people". _________________ "Here are the young men, the weight on their shoulders."
