Album art is photograph of Simonon smashing his Fender Precision Bass. The font and colouring pays tribute to Elvis Presely's self-titled album. The album cover for London Calling was among the ten chosen by the Royal Mail for a set of "Classic Album Cover" postage stamps issued in January 2010.

Album art by Barry Godber (1946–1970), a computer programmer, who painted the album cover. Godber died in February 1970 of a heart attack, shortly after the album's release. It would be his only painting, and is now owned by Robert Fripp.

In The Court.. That maniac screaming on the cover got me pretty interested when I first saw it..
LC is also a great cover, very iconic.. But can't help think that the idea is stolen (/parodied) from Elvis'.
