As much as I like Janelle, it's got to be Carole. Just the amount of great, great pop songs she's written borders on the ridiculous.

That's ignoring the amazing amount of songs Carole King wrote for others with Gerry Goffin and were absolute masterpieces - ang generally huge hits too. I vote King.
