Joni Mitchell writes her own music. ABBA's stuff was written by the boys, not the ladies. One point for Joni.

Joni Mitchell was poet, wrote with depth and meaning. ABBA wrote about telephones and Napoleon. Two points for Joni.

Joni could play many instruments well. Agnetha could bang a tambourine on her hip. Three points for Joni.

Joni had Blue, Clouds, Ladies of the Canyon, Court and Spark, Hejira, and many others. ABBA had Ring Ring and Voulez Vous. Four points for Joni.

Joni inspired hundreds of female artists. ABBA inspired S Club 7 and Aqua. Five points for Joni.

For the love of God, vote for Joni. I like ABBA, but compared, they're fluff.

I don't think ABBA is a bad band, but the first musician Agnetha came up against was, IMO, better than her. Maybe if she had come up against a worse one.....
The funny thing is that if I look at the first Joni matchup, even Joni shouldn't have made it this far, Lisa Germano should have won that one.
