Interesting results are coming out of this but just a thought:

Does sex appeal play a part in your voting? Would this be the same for male artists. Eg.:

Sex appeal absolutely plays apart in the voting, it would be pretty naive to assume it didn't

It plays a part, not neccecarily a big one though. I think most people at least make a conceded effort to separate their randiness from their decisions. So I don't think looks would ever override talent for anyone on here (who's name isn't GARY). If in a situation where someone doesn't know much about either artist then yeah, I could see it coming down to looks (it probably would for me) but that's the only situation where I think it would have a significant affect.

So I think your statement on the Beyonce v Tegan & Sara thread was a little unfair, most people who were voting for Beyonce gave the reason for it being that they preferred her music. Cause Tegan & Sara aren't bad looking girls by any standard.

True but I was taking a naive view of the situation as I am concerned in a way that people are voting on looks over substance.

My intention behind the comment was that sex sells an artist and it seems that the skin-tight outfits of Beyonce might override the typical indie look of Tegan and Sara.
