OK, well at least 1973 finishes with a perfect record.
Albums by: Pink Floyd; Led Zeppelin; The Who; The Rolling Stones; Stevie Wonder; Elton John; The Stooges; Paul McCartney; David Bowie; Roxy Music; Marvin Gaye; John Cale; Cockney Rebel & Kraftwerk.
Debut albums by: Bruce Springsteen; Lynyrd Skynyrd; Aerosmitih; 10ccc; Bachman–Turner Overdrive; Henry Cow; Queen; Suzi Quatro; Abba; The New York Dolls
SINGLES by Bob Marley; David Bowie; Joe Walsh; Paul McCartney & Wings; Queen; The Rolling Stones; Steely Dan; The Who
New formed bands: AC/DC; Bad Company; Cheap Trick; Journey; Heart; Devo; Kiss
And still this year does not qualify for the next round. I don't want to be a sore loser but hey ...
Anyway, what matters is it was tons of fun while it lasted.
I wish the best of luck to the years left in contention ... may the best one get my vote.
Rock on

Take out Devo and that's just a list of bands I hate.

What a shame the tragedy that struck over the 73 team.

I wasn't commenting on your team selection or 1973 in general (to be honest, it was one of the years that appealed least to my particular tastes - but each to their own and all that jazz), just on that list of newly formed bands. It's just all corporate rock bullshit (Devo aside, obviously). If you're into corporate rock, more power to you. I just can't stand it.
