To me it is the best album ever but obviously not everyone will agree. It covers so many genres and not only mixed things people thought unmixable but did it wonderfully. Every album following london calling has been influenced by it. Its up there with VU and nico, Funhouse, and Revolver.

London Calling is a musically diverse and lyrically charming masterpiece. Without a doubt the album is in my top 50. Personally, I think there are better albums out there, but I completely understand and respect that it's at the top of some people's lists.

I love London Calling, however it failed to make my list, but perhaps it should be on there. I listen to Rudy Can't Fail at least once a day.

In my humble opinion Zen Arcade and Double Nickels on the Dime are both superior punk rock albums

The Clash generaly has influenced more then London Calling personaly. The album shows how talented the punk band really was, covering so many styles. But i have to agree with Elston this aint the best punk album(is it even a punk album?). The best album? No. The best rock album? No.
The most loved album? Yes. The most charming album? Yes. The most honest? Yes. Its an album u love to the rest of your life, i bought a copy when i was 16, it was the first album i really wanted.

Good points Elston and Mr. music. i respect your opinion and I too love Double nickels on the dime and zen arcade. I also agree with you Mr. Music that london calling is barely a punk album.

The most "punk" thing about London Calling is the cover. You see that and you think it's going to be some hardcore stuff.

By the way has anybody ever listened to the Vanilla Tapes? A friend of mine burned me a copy, but I haven't gotten around to listening to it. I've had it for months now.

haha good point. I don't care one bit though. I think that, because it's less punk and more everything else, it makes it all that much better in this case.
