Soooo tough. I'm really going to be saving my vote till I can really think it through.
Gibson: Jimmy Page, Randy Rhoads, Tony Iommi, Angus Young, Slash, Duane Allman, Peter Green, etc.
Fender: Jimi Hendrix, Uli Jon Roth, Eric Clapton*, David Gilmour, Rory Gallagher, Ritchie Blackmore, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck.
* Clapton played both but probably most remembered for Fender guitars.
Hmm... tough tough choice. Fender has better cleans but Gibson has that dirty sound and awesome gain that I love.

Fender won it for me, since after all, I own a Fender at it has a freaking amazing tone and is freakishly good at blues and dry funk _________________ Back after a while

Each has its merits but I prefer Gibson Les Paul Custom.

Gibson for electric, Taylor or Martin for acoustic. Now if only I had the proper funds to allocate to such purchases.

The smooth fender neck coupled with some Ernie Balls does it for me.
The look of Gibson is only rivaled by Gretsch which is my favorite guitar to jazz on
