So my school, UCSB, led all universities in the nation in voter registration, so MTV is sponsoring a concert for us next quarter and they want to hear our requests. I am both excited and heartbroken. The potential here is so beautiful... and yet I'm certain we're going to end up with some teenybopper hero.
Who would you guys request? Personally, if we're keeping it to contemporary artists, I'd give a left nut to get Jack White. _________________
I think UCSB is an engineering school mostly so you must invite David Dondero to sing his "Song for the Civil Engineer" for you lot.
You're right that UCSB is one of the most prestigious when it comes to engineering, but unfortunately the engineering school is only a small minority of our students so they won't have the biggest say in the matter. _________________
The biggest demands right now appear to be Beyonce and Macklemore.

The best contemporary rock artists are probably Black Keys and Jack White, so even if you don't want them too much, they're you're best bet to vote for, and avoid getting (shudder) Beyonce and Macklemore.
