I'm not liking the way the first song, 2112, has been cut up. It's a single track. It would be incorrect to assume each part is its own song, despite only one or two parts of it being played at live shows on occasions.

I thought I would make a post here as albummaster changed it. Didn't want to take it on myself to change it back. Would it be possible to argue the case to return the song to '2112'?

Is there a version of the album that had them split?

I know, for instance, with the Spirit of Eden, in US releases the first three tracks were split into three, whereas they were combined in Europe.

That was my suggestion. I suggested it because some people only like certain parts of 2112. For example, the radio here only gets Overture ln the radio and no other part. I think AM changed it.

That should be changed back immediately. If we start basing BEA on the radio, the whole thing will go to shit.

I didn't try to base it on radio. That was just a small example. There were parts of the song I liked, like Overture, Temples of Syrinx, and Underture, and there were parts I wasn't that fond of like the two parts before Underture.

Regardless of what we like and don't like, it should be listed as it is on the album. The album shows "2112" as a single track with seperate parts. It should be on site the same way.

I'm appalled at the ridiculousness of your reasoning for giving this example. How about we split the songs into verses and choruses and solos too? What if I only like a few seconds of the song? Should we split it into that too? Unfuckingbelievable. Sorry for my strong feelings on this subject, but this album in particular hits a soft spot considering how high it is on my chart.

The song has seven different sub-songs in it. People like some of those parts and hate some of those parts. My reasoning is NOT ridiculous no matter how much you want it to be.

It is ridiculous. The concept of the song is split into parts, but it is one track.
Not sure about everyone else, but I am outraged that JMan's taste is deciding the layout for some of my favorite albums. Can we please start filtering his suggestions a bit more efficiently?

I only suggested it. It was a moderator or Albummaster who actually did it. I didn't expect it to happen! Get mad at them before you get made at me, Jason!
