This goes way back, to the ole days of 2005; I don't know if this has been posted before, but I think it could trigger some discussion about how laughable it is, having in mind the recent list BBC released. Because, you know, X & Y was unanimously hailed as a modern classic at the time of its release only not๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ

I guess because of Nevermind at number one... Well, I can get behind this (although I passionately love Nevermind) but this list reminds me of Joj's "worst albums ever" chart... As if it was made having in mind that nobody will agree (which is partly understandable because it was compiled by a huge sample of different people... but some choices are really, really out of place, especially X&Y, how the hell it was even overrated?).

People always seem to get overrated mixed up with bad. Nevermind is a great record, but it really doesn't deserve to be in every top ten list ever published, but then that's just my opinion.
As for X&Y, it's grossly overrated. I often hear people cite it as the best Coldplay, purely because Fix You is on there. This site goes to show - the 252nd greatest album of all time? Yikes. It's not a bad album, it doesn't do anything wrong per say, but it's 75% the same dull noise.
Well considering Pet Sounds is almost always considered one of the best albums of all time, I would say they are. I still enjoy them, but they've been over - hyped than most bands.
I still love the beach boys though.

Does that mean that if a piece of art (music/film/painting) is commonly accepted by the masses, both educated and uneducated, to be truly worthy of adulation or praise due to meriticulous endeavour on the part of the artist or unrivalled beauty/power (Pet Sounds has both, by the way), it is 'over-rated'? _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing Folk 'n Stuff SHAMELESS RECORD DEALER PLUG
